Did my second run for this year and man, how have I aged. This could well be my last marathon in a while.

Kraze @ Marina Bay Sands

We made our way to MBS yesterday to collect our race pack for SCMS 2011. Manage to get a quick lunch at Kraze and surprisingly, the food was very good. And so is the iPhone camera.

Hello 4S, Bye 2011

Posted in iPhone, Me time by Aska on December 3, 2011

So, we are in the month of December yet again – My favorite month of year for a couple of reasons. It’s the time when the bank account will be beefed up. It’s also the season of giving!

After blessings from a pal, I’ve finally manage to get my hands on 4S. Am penning down my thoughts from the phone after I realize that the new WordPress app is iPhone-friendly.

Kind of a random post on a weekend but hell-yea, am loving it! :)

杨宗维 was finally here at Singapore after N years. When he first came to Singapore, I wanted to go queue and see him but exams were more important then. N years later, there he was 200 metres away from me. However, 好景不长。While I was queuing to get his signature on my album of his, it poured! With no umbrella with me, I resigned to fate. We are, after all, not fated. So that adds to an uneventful Sunday, which saw me running to 4 Hello Shop and not getting my iPhone 4S.

Pain-in-the-neck.

Tasmania II – Cradle Mountain

Posted in Photography, Tasmania, Travel by Aska on October 23, 2011

The third day saw us driving up to Cradle Mountain from Launceston city. We made a few stops in between so that JJ can take a rest as the whole journey up the Mountain will take about 4 hrs. We paid a visit at Mole Creek – Marakopa Cave. It’s an underground cave and we saw glow worms!

Photobucket

While waiting for the cave tour to start, we took some tourist shots in front of the cave :P

PhotobucketPhotobucket

The cave is filled with straws like this. Glow warms are camera shy ;)

On the way back, we popped by a Honey farm, which turned out to be our biggest shopping paradise.

The honey were so affordable that we lugged back 12 kgs of it. We also tried their leatherwood ice cream which was sooo awesome. To eat ice cream in that cold weather was just amazing!
Photobucket

We managed to find the raspberry Farm along the way and had our first eat out at Tasmania. Roast Pork belly for JJ and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for me :)

We continued our drive up Cradle mountain and finally reach our cabin at Cradle Mountain Highlanders before the sun set.

Photobucket

Shortly after we arrived, it started to snow. It’s my first time seeing snow and with my boy, it was even more memorable. :)

Photobucket

We rested early (a norm when you are in Aussie actually), and woke up to a snowy morning. JJ made us breakfast (again!) before we made our way up to the REAL Cradle Mountain!

We had to take a shuttle bus at the Tourist Centre up to the Dove Lake Circuit Track. Here’s where we were before taking the bus up.
Photobucket

Once we reached the mountain, the view was MAGNIFICENT.

That’s a post card worthy photo eh!

Beautiful boat house :)

The snow fall was intermittent and it was so chilling walking in the snow fall.

We went back to our Cabin to have a quick kimchi dinner before heading out again to the Tasmania Devils night feeding session!

Photobucket

Gruesome!

That marked the last night stay at Cradle Mountain and the next morning, we will be making our journey to Hobart.

Tasmania I – Launceston

Posted in Photography, Tasmania, Travel by Aska on October 23, 2011

I have been looking forward to this trip since FOREVER, and finally it gets materalized :)

Photobucket

It was a night flight and I had a tough time falling asleep on the plane. Hence, by the time we touched down, I was drained. Not to mention that we had to wait near to 4 hours for the transit flight to Launceston from Melbourne.

But it was, of cos, all worth the wait.

We reached Launceston in the afternoon and collected our rented car, Tiida and started our 8 days road trip in Tasmania!

Photobucket

We made our way to our first stay of the trip, Hotel Charles, and we were pleasantly surprised that there was a small kitchenette attached in our room. That means JJ can cook! :P

After settling our luggage, we made our way to Cataract Gorge to take the longest chairlift in the world.

Photobucket
Awesome view from the chairlift :)

Photobucket
Us attempting at a self shot! Turned out not too bad eh. Hehe.

Photobucket

A runner ran past and it was very nice of him to offer to take a decent “couple” photo for us.

Photobucket

Mini waterfall!

We then made our way back and dropped by Coles and Kmart for grocery shopping. JJ made simple dinner and we had an early night. The next morning saw him waking up early to make breakfast. So blessed!

Photobucket

We had planned for vineyard hopping + wine shopping that day.

Photobucket

Us at one of the vineyard.

Pipers Brook was one of the biggest vineyard at Launceston so JJ was kinda excited when we managed to locate it.
PhotobucketHappy boy!

After which, we headed to the Platypus house to see Platypus ( surprised! Ha) and Edchina. There are the only two mammals that lay eggs that has yet to extinct.

Weather was kinda erratic though. But luckily there wasnt any pouring.

It was also his birthday that day and I was planning to bring him to a restaurant, only to find out on the day that it was closed for winter break. The next restaurant that was on my list was closed on Sunday and Monday. So we had to settle for Pizza and grilled chicken for his birthday dinner. My bad planning :P

It tasted quite yummy too, though it was from Coles.
Photobucket

Domino pizza! Makes me hungry looking at it now.
Photobucket

Two days passed quickly in Launceston and we will be heading for Cradle Mountain next! :)

One Degree Fifteen

Posted in Friends, Wedding by Aska on October 23, 2011

Just last week, I went to One Degree Fifteen for the first time to attend an ex-colleague wedding. Had a good time catching up with the old colleagues :)

It’s been almost two years since I left, and it’s amazing how the department has grown in terms of manpower.

Universal Studio 2011

Posted in Friends, Photography by Aska on October 23, 2011

It finally dawn on me the reason why I’m not blogging as often as I used to. Perhaps wordpress has given me some pushed factor. God knows how long it takes to upload every single photo, compare to the much more efficient blogspot. I can add in several photos at one go, but for WP, I must add them ONE by ONE. Seriously gets the nerves on me. So I’ve decided to turn to Photobucket, my old trusty pal since BS. Hopefully, I can add them fast enough through the HTML format.

Anyway, I’m back from Tasmania, before you even know it. It was an awesome trip and I missed it so much! Took 23930437 pictures, but I’m not sure if WP can take it, so Im trying out with the sets of photos that I’ve taken during the recent trip to Universal Studio with JJ, Elle and QL.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Thank god for the wonderful weather that day. Everyone was so game for the rides and photo taking with the cartoon characters. Heh a great “weekend getaway” from the bustling city.

We reached USS around 11am and it was still quiet. It made sense for us to ‘chiong’ the rides first before the crowds start creeping in.
Photobucket

We conquered the Battlestars – Human & Cylon

Photobucket

.. As well as the Mummy! Yay!

Photobucket

Actually, that’s basically the rides that were worth the moolahs.

So after lunch, we went the Shrek 4D, Donkey Live Show (totally waste of time), Monster Rock, Lost in Waterworld etc. There were also some other rides that we took, just to “complete” the whole USS experience. Ha. Singaporeans eh!

Photobucket

With Pussy Cat which is a TIKO cat. Love this pic though :)

Photobucket

At Far Far away land!

Photobucket

Shrek and Princess Fiona, and our Gingerbread Head. Elle and I bought one each. Hehe.

Photobucket

Hello Twin!

Photobucket

And finally with KungFu Panda!

Awesome Company = Awesome Fun!

Till the next! :)
